Signs of Water Seeping Into Your Basement?

basement water

Spring showers bring May flowers… or so they say around the Missouri and Kansas area. Typically, the Spring and Summer months bring on warmer weather, rain, and even on the flip side, droughts. The heavier the rainfall the bigger the risk for water getting into your basement. It can even operate the other way, as a drought that brings on foundation cracks, resulting in water seeping in when it rains. Throughout 2022 and into 2023, Kansas City area saw a drought. The conditions were very dry, causing the clay soil to condense and pull away from the home’s foundation. This brought on cracks and “settling,” which is never good for your foundation. Then when it rained, the water would seep into your basement through the cracks.

What Makes Our Basement Waterproofing Better?

At PierMagic, we engineered our basement waterproofing systems to keep water out permanently. We take the time to determine what is causing the leak so that we can recommend the best solution.

Ideally there should be a consistent moisture content in the soils surrounding your home foundation. To obtain this we install a waterproofing barrier around the home and replace the soils with a new footing drain and gravel, leaving enough soil on top for vegetation and landscaping. Our waterproofing barrier does not allow water to gather around the home’s foundation. The gravel is strong and stable, unlike the highly expansive soils surrounding your home.

The waterproofing barrier also removes the pressure on the foundation wall which will keep the foundation from shifting and causing cracks. We have every detailed covered when it comes to basement waterproofing. Once you contact us you will quickly see why we are the best at basement waterproofing.
